    2024 Annual Meeting—San Diego, CA

    Theme: Implications of Covenant Theology in the 21st Century

The Adventist Theological Society invites proposals for its annual meetings in San Diego, California, on Wednesday through Friday (Nov 20-22, 2024) and Sabbath (Nov 23, 2024). This year’s theme is “Implications of Covenant Theology in the 21st Century,” although excellent papers on other topics will also be accepted.

Modality: 
For many international scholars it is very difficult to obtain visas and come to the meetings in person. Yet we value the contributions and voices of friends and colleagues. As we have done in the past, we intend to have a breakout session of virtual presentations alongside in-person presentations. Proposals can be submitted for either virtual or in-person modality. 

Submission Guidelines:
1. Proposals must be in Microsoft Word format and include an abstract (200-300 words) summarizing the central thesis and trajectory of argumentation. 
2. Include in the proposal the paper title, the author’s full name, institution, mailing address, and email address.
3. First-time presenters must also submit a complete outline of their paper for review when they submit their proposal.
4. The Adventist Theological Society affirms a high view of Scripture. Proposals should reflect this perspective.
5. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee acceptance. 

Indicate whether you plan to attend in-person or wish to contribute in virtual modality. 
If your paper is accepted, we will send you more information regarding scheduling and location when these details are settled.  ATS does not have funds to assit presenters with travel expenses.
It is our intention to communicate regarding the inclusion of your paper in the ATS Symposium by June 2024.
