The Role of Culture in Applying Biblical & Lifestyle Principles
For a number of years, an ATS Bible Conference at a local church in the general vicinity of (but several miles from) the national Evangelical Theological Society and Society of Biblical Literature conventions has been a regular feature of the ATS November schedule.
Instead of this, in 2009 ATS will host a day of scholarly dialogue on the theme: “The Role of Culture in Applying Biblical Ethical and Lifestyle Principles.” The event is intended to foster interaction and community among Adventist scholars, with the venue in downtown New Orleans close to the Society of Biblical Literature meetings making it convenient for participants. Any Seventh-day Adventist scholars, including graduate students, are invited to enjoy intellectual stimulation, spiritual fellowship, and two meals sponsored by ATS.
We pray and hope that this day’s series of presentations and discussions may bring us to a closer understanding of God’s will and ways for His church.
