To All Adventist Theological Society Members/Subscribers:

We trust that 2014 is proving to be a blessed year for you in service for our Lord.  We are excited about the upcoming ATS Spring Symposium on Adventist Identity and Eschatology that will be held at the McDonald Road SDA Church on the campus of Southern Adventist University, Thursday, April 17 through Sabbath, April 19.  

The program will begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday evening with a welcome and orientation by Felix Cortez, President-elect of ATS, and a keynote address by Jacques Doukhan (Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament Exegesis, SDA Theological Seminary, Andrews University).

On Friday at 8:30 am we will have a morning devotional by Jack Blanco (Professor Emeritus, Southern Adventist University).  This will be followed with presentations given by Lael Caesar (Associate Editor, Adventist Review and Adventist World), Martin Klingbeil (Professor of Biblical Studies and Archaeology, Southern Adventist University) and Ed Zinke (Senior Advisor, Adventist Review).  A breakout session will be held at 11:30 with a choice of presenters (see schedule).

After lunch there will be tours of the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum and the Origins Exhibit on the campus of Southern Adventist University.  At 3:00 pm we will resume with presentations given by Ante Jeroncic (Asst. Professor of Religion, Andrews University) and Reimar Vetne (Professor of New Testament, Montemorelos University). Next will be additional breakout sessions followed by supper.  

Friday evening at 7:30 pm there will be an ATS Recognition Program and mini concert by Covenant of Praise with a presentation at 8:00 by Felix Cortez (Asst. Professor of New Testament Literature, Andrews University).

Sabbath morning will begin at 10:15 am with a presentation by Jiri Moskala (Dean of the SDA Theological Seminary, Andrews University).  Sabbath School will be conducted by Alan Parker (Professor of Missiology and Evangelism, Southern Adventist University) and the Worship Service by Stephen Bauer (Professor of Theology and Ethics, Southern Adventist University).  His sermon title is “The Meaning of Adventist Eschatology.”

At 2:30 there will be a presentation by Richard Sabuin (Dean of the SDA Seminary, AIIAS).  Next will be David Trim (Director, Archives, Statistics, and Research at the General Conference).  Following that will be Tom Shepherd (Professor of New Testament Interpretation, SDA Theological Seminary, Andrews University).  The afternoon will conclude with a panel discussion led by Greg King (Dean and Professor of Biblical Studies, Southern Adventist University) as moderator.  The symposium will conclude with supper at 6:30.
